Vinícola del Priorat

La Vinícola del Priorat was founded in 1991 to group together the production of small co-operativefruit de la the need to renovate the technological processes of obtaining the wine and olive oil.

Our wine with a qualified appellation is characterised, on one hand, by the market control  del minifundisme of Priorat and, on the other, to reduce the production of each vine to around a kilo of grapes. The steep slopes of the farmland of more than 30%, the slate soil (with fragments of slate) together with the age of our vines (the majority of which are about 60 years old) are features of Priorat due to the tortuous geography of the area.
This, together with environmental factors, enables us to consistently produce wine of an exceptional quality with international prestige, year after year. 

Currently, the Vinícola combines the co-operatives of four towns in the County of Priorat: Gratallops, el Lloar,
la Vilella Alta and la Vilella Baixa. The Vinícola has 125 members with vineyards on 310 plots of land which, in total amounts to land surface area of 205 hectares producing some 450,000 kilos of grapes.
In la Vilella Alta you can find an olive oil mill integrated with the co-operative building and where our Extra Virgin olive oil (arbequina) is made emparatper la Denominació d’Origen Protegida Siurana.
